Britney Walton is a 4th year TRU nursing student (and a recent grad - Grad Class of 2022) who is passionate, driven, and dedicated in pursuing her critical care nursing specialty.

She is an extraordinary student and wise beyond her years. Throughout her undergraduate nursing degree, she has been devoted to her academic success, and as a result has been awarded Dean’s List throughout all of her semesters. In addition, she also worked as an employed student nurse during her 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year. On top of that, she was a peer mentor & leadership coordinator, student-dean liaison representative, a pathophysiology supplemental learning leader, and obtained her Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification, and the list goes on…

Outside of nursing school, you can find her mountain biking, hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking/SUP, and road tripping around our beautiful province.

Her hard work and achievements thus far, shows how committed and dedicated she is as an individual, and this is a well-deserved recognition. A big congratulations goes out to Britney for winning one of this years' TRU Critical Care Education Bursary award.

Riley Martian is currently in her 3rd year of the nursing program at TRU. She is a dedicated and ambitious student and has maintained an outstanding GPA of 4.05/4.33 throughout her studies.

At this early stage, she has developed a passion for critical care nursing and has already completed her first course (i.e., Critical Care & Emergency Nursing Assessment). Upon graduation, she aspires to complete her advanced critical care nursing certification through Mount Royal University.

Prior to pursuing a career in nursing, Riley has obtained multiple management positions in her professional life. The leadership skills she developed from this experience has transferred over to all areas of her life, and also within the clinical setting. She leads by example among her peers, and demonstrate a great deal of competence and confidence.

Outside of nursing, while trying to balance school, work, life, and parenthood, Riley is an outdoor enthusiast who love hiking, biking, and backpacking.

A big congratulations goes out to Riley for winning this years' TRU Critical Care Education Bursary award. Her unrelentless hard work, determination, commitment, and focus is a well-deserved recognition.
